We used these folks 18 months ago. You'll find them at the Al Baraha hospital in Deira. Well worth the money for someone else to run round and get all the stamps. They translate the english name into arabic for the arabic birth certificate, and then back to english for the english certificate. For us they screwed up the english forenames and surnames, so check it when you're there! They just corrected it in on the typewriter there and then so no probs.

Make sure that you get a UK-style birth certificate from the british consulate also, although not strictly "needed" for a passport, your little one will thank you for it in the future.

Corniche Hospital - supposed to be very good. Not quite as good as our living room in UK in a small pool (first delivery at home)!! But she's ok with it.
