Hi all,

Does anybody know the difference between being hired as a supplied manpower (SMP) vs. direct hire? What are the pros and cons?

Direct hire you will get all the NEOM benefits. SMP, you will be completely on your own to sort out and pay for your accomodation, meals, flights, visas etc.

are you sure about the accommodation / meal part ?
I understood from someone that those are included as well, except reallocation allowance, which is not given to SMPs, instead, they book your flights and pay back visa fees
will be great if we have any SMP here to develop more about the situation and gives more details

I have been offered a role sometime in July via (Jones Engineering) which I declined as it was mouth watering package. The verbal offer mentioned accommodation, meals allowance provided by SMP. Hope that helps.

So for an SMP, the uplift goes as much as 35% in some cases. No relocation and no bonus. You can negotiate a couple of grand more before accepting the final offer as an SMP. The bigger challenge is due to the fact that you need to be dependent on the SMP provider for accommodation and transportation (with a full deduction of those allowances of course) which basically involves traveling around 100km one way to reach your office. Breakfast and lunch are free at the office however you will end up managing your own dinner outside in some unknown place. No Gym or other community facilities and nothing to do or socialize over the weekend, But it is doable. No intent of creating a very negative picture. Just being blunt about it so you go with realistic expectations.
