NEOM - Degree Exemption Letter
I have heard a few folks mention that once they realized their degrees could not get attested for work visa they requested and were issued a Degree Exemption Letter from NEOM. Can some one please send me a sample letter, my SMP (contract) company is requesting so they can draft one for me? Secondly, for those that experienced this issue once the work visa was issued, did you have further issues when applying for a permanent family visa after arrival? I read that an attested degree is a requirement for that process as well, in short, will they accept the degree exemption letter in lieu of a attested degree for the issuance of permanent family visa as well?
I really appreciate any insight you can offer. |
Re: NEOM - Degree Exemption Letter
Hi, were you able to sort this out?

Re: NEOM - Degree Exemption Letter
All sorted, my degree did receive the attestation.

Hi Teeizzy, i suspect it depends on your background experience and if they are able to fill the role with a degree qualified person. That said, I have just received my Degree exemption letter from Neom this week so it is definitely possible.
Thank you for the prompt feedback. Hopefully my experience should more than make up for lack of having a degree. Best of luck in your new role. |
Re: NEOM - Degree Exemption Letter
Hi, I have had my final 4th interview and all went extremely well. I have a ‘yes’ so am super excited!
However, the interviewer mentioned ‘having a degree’ several times and I have seen it mentioned in this thread / forum. I don’t have a degree, but have several diplomas in business, finance, etc…and a highly successful career. To be frank, my degree would have been 30 years ago, so not sure of the relevance? Do you need to have a degree to work for Neom or is there an exception or exemption process that can be undertaken? Thank you in advance. |

congratulations on getting a yes. I’ve read elsewhere that hiring managers can request degree exemptions but I wouldn’t know how factual that is. Everyone I’ve come across at Neom have degrees.
Essentially if you have the skills they require they will commit with an offer, and I can confirm that I am now here on site at Neom, despite not having a university degree. |

Sorry Krb, missed this post just now. Be up front during interviews, emphasise the skills and experience you have and you may well get taken on. Many people have previously advised that a lot of patients is required and I can confirm this with my journey starting at the end of last March and only arriving in the last week (for a multitude of reasons).
Good Luck and keep us updated on your progress. Thank you so much. And congratulations on being patient! It’s in the hands of the business now, who are seeking an exception letter for me. Fingers crossed it all works out :-) |
Re: NEOM - Degree Exemption Letter
Hi all, I've got an exemption letter from Neom and managed to get my visa. Just want to check if any of you have managed to get sponsored visas for your family with an exemption letter? My degree attestation will unfortunately take more time and I would like to get my family in KSA as soon as possible. From most forums I can see that degree attestation is a requirement for family visas but I don't know if that has changed. I am assuming if individual visas are being issued through degree exemption letters, family visas should too? Let me know if anyone has any insights on this. Thanks

Re: NEOM - Degree Exemption Letter
There’s two (similarly named) letters relating to degrees that are used.
One is the the degree exception letter. This is for the embassy in your home country to get you your visa without having to provide your attested degree, under the understanding that you have three months to then provide it one you arrive. The degree exemption letter is different and for those who either don’t have a degree or have one that can’t be attested for whatever reason - if you did your degree distance learning etc. My understanding is that if you get your iqama based on an exemption letter, you cannot then bring your family in and get them residency also. |
