Bur Dubai is like South East Asia in a cup (I live here as well)
dont worry, you will find it easy to get along very quickly
get a Nol card for the metro, shop at carrefour to begin with and do as much of your furniture shopping from the bani yas area in Deira and you will be fine
If you need any help, let me know, would be more than willing to guide as much as I can

Thanks . Furniture I get but I am more concerned about food as I love Indian taste but can't actually figure out on my weekends off ..

Is there restaurants in Deira / Bur Dubai offers food in Indian styles ?

As I am afraid I will have most of Middle Eastern recipes on my first check-in to local restaurants.

Ha! There are more restaurants catering to South Asian / Phlipinies / Chinese / Fast Food Cuisine than those catering to ME cuisine in Bur and Deira, don't worry about missing Indian food, trust me you won't need to

Gr8!!!

What else I can find more in ???? Any Specific Restaurant for Traditional Foods of different countries ?

One More thing about culture. Would it be good to wear cloths in shorts ? I wonder there are some restrictions to go outside in short dresses.

I don't want to be Awful Looking Indian Lady in Dubai either !

No way to name any one name, there are literally hundreds if not thousands of restaurants in this city. To each his own taste. It's not a small city you know. I really don't think wearing shorts is a problem unless they are the really really short types. A bit more covering up is recommended during Ramzan but even then in the Malls its business as usual. This isn't the KSA thank god.

There are unofficial rules for dress that vary across town. In a place like Bur Dubai a woman in shorts (who's not a white westerner) will definitely raise eyebrows if the shorts are very short. But capri-style or to the knees should be ok. I've seen Indian ladies in those types of shorts.

In Dubai Marina? None at all. Wear anything you want.

You'll soon learn what works and where.

I wear shorts all the time including to the malls and some bars and never have issues. Can't stand wearing trousers when it's 30+.

Best Indian restaurant in Bur Dubai: Sind Punjab.

Write that down. You're welcome.
