Ok as some of you may have heard, I'm planning on moving out to dubai in the next couple of months...

now i've just realised we're coming up to september and I'm quite dis-organised...

now do I go ahead with the two month stay whilst i'm looking for work? Or do I go meet agencies and fly back again if there's any interest?

What I really want to know though, what is the minimum amount of masari I would I need to survive a two month stay?

How long is a piece of string ???
Where you staying?
What do you want to do?
How much do you eat ?
How much do you shop ?
How much do you drink?
Do you want to buy any company (I here you can combine this one and drink for 5000 per night) ?

The list is endless ......

Main expense will obviously be accommodation and after that it all depends on what you do - if you are out every night etc etc. I think its pretty hard for anyone to put a figure on it not knowing what you intend to do. Don't know if that makes any sense or I'm just rambling

Difficult to say, you would need to look into the accomodation side to what standard you require, and what area so to be close to businesses that you are targeting. but for daily living, food, and basics you could budget 100 AED a day that is about 13.00, not saying that you would eat like a king but you could eat

You have forgotten daily taxi/travel fares - budget another 50-75. Depends where you're staying, who you plan to meet (agencies, employers....). Are you planning to rent a car?

Try and find accommodation in the Golden Sands area - this is handy to SZR, Bank Street and DIFC - where many of the agencies are located)...

Er, Cham........ won't you be sharing a room with Miss DD? Armani Towers are having your rooom prepared as I write.........

More seriously...... if you are coming in September (which also depends on DD when I think about it), don't forget Ramadan starts mid-month. Not an issue in general, but firms you might want to meet for interviews etc will work a shorter day, and you won't get offered even so much as a glass of water......

Thank indie... I'm hoping that my friend will be back in the country by then and well as she's going to be working and not able to use her car i wouldn't want her to let it go to waste lol... no seriously though I've taken into account the travelling costs...

ahh yes armani towers... although it's not so cheap there... i think it's all the extras that pushes the price up a little lol.

I realised the whole summer/ramadan problems and no one being in the country... so i'll be going mid-oct if I have the money for it

Im not sure on this but don't you need a local driving licence to drive a non-rental car here??

Dunno about local.. but you can't drive a private car on a UK licence.
But.. can you still get a temp licence which is cheap and easy?
