Nanny/Maid
Hi,
I am moving to AD in a few weeks and want to know what is the best source to get nanny/maid hired. Also, what is the process of hiring? Google didn't provide much help so wondering.
Thanks

1. Go to an agency and sort through the photos of one you want. Complete lottery.
2. Find one from someone leaving, or from a notice board, or from a friendly pinoy working at the supermarket who will have a friend. Complete lottery
3. Put small advert on notice board/ gulf news. Do some interviews - make sure she understands the concept of marital duties. Complete lottery.
4. Go to dubizzle and find one advertising themselves. Complete lottery.
Thems the ways. Complete lottery.
One you have one, the visa process is fairly simple, get the company PRO to do it.

Thanks Millhouse.
#1 seems the most expensive since agencies are asking 5-8K fee upfront.
Might have to start with 2 and then 3. Let's see.

option 2 is the best - it at least reduces the lottery component.
Don't do an agent (I did) - they lie to everyone involved... mine thought she was coming to be a teacher. Thankfully it worked out very well but it could have ended badly.

Re: Nanny/Maid
Some of the residential communities have face book sites with things like ''is this your cat?'' and ''we're leaving and our nanny is looking for a new family'' etc.
