Nanny/Hope help - quick answer please!
Happy New Year all
Looking to get a nanny/home help on a full-time basis and interviewed one yesterday. Would appreciate your help wrt how much we should pay her given that:
(a) she won't be living with us
(b) she has no formal nanny/childcare qualifications (and we're not seeking nor expecting an educational component from her)
(c) we'll be using her 5 days a week, Sun - Thur
(d) she'll be doing housework as well as looking after kids
(e) she's Philippino
(f) we will need to sponsor her
Please feel free to direct me to other relevant threads. I've done a forum search but each case seems to be different and so difficult to get a handle on costs.
Cheers

I pay my house-help (from the Philipines - 5 day week; she is sponsored by her hubby and is not a live-in) between 2,000 (12:30-5pm) and 3,000 (during summer vacation when she is at home from 8:30 to 5). Very light housework- mainly there to look after my 6 year old for a couple of hours after her school finishes.

Dhs1,500 per month is the going rate for a full-time Filipina housemaid/nanny.

Admon - she is on her hubby's visa....so she could be an acquaintance who is babysitting (just very regularly)......
