Default My annoying Dubai not-so-Newbie questions...

Can you get mobiles unlocked from UK networks? I've brought a decent smartphone from the UK and don't want to buy another one. I plan to get a cheap Nokia to put my UK SIM in and get a UAE SIM for my good phone.

Which shop is good for buying food supplements (fish oil, etc)? I can't see any Holland and Barratts branches here!

Why am I getting loads of LinkedIn connection requests from agency people wanting me to join their Networking forums, etc? Is this normal?

TIA!

You probably can if you have the PUK codes etc. Take it to one of the small phone shops and they should be able to sort you out.

These will be 'Financial Advisers' looking to part you from any UK pension savings that you may have. Don't accept and report as spam, that is what I do.

Thanks all.

Guess I'll have to open my eyes. I was in MoE last night and didn't see a H&B. I even looked on the map!

Re: phone, I was assuming it would be possible, just wasn't sure. My phone is locked to the EE network with me having it on contract. Don't think any other SIM would work in it unless it's been unlocked.

If your phone or device is currently locked to EE, Orange or T-Mobile, here's how you can request your unlock code:
  1. You can apply to unlock your device using our online form.
  2. Fill out the unlock form via your My Account.
  3. Call us on 150 (charges might apply).

Won't they charge for that as if I'm cancelling the contract?

Edit - they charge 8.99 if you've had it more than 6 months. Sorted. Ta.

If your contract has run out they have to do it for nothing.
