Moving to Riyadh

I am being transferred to Riyadh during Aug/Sep. My wife and family will be following, once I get my status sorted out. We would probably be living in a company compound or company flats near to the compound. I don't know much at this stage, but I feel a bit of dread...I have lived and worked in UAE, Qatar, Oman and Libya. Needless, to say the worst of all of these was Libya.

Strangely, my wife has been enthusiastic to join me there, and I hope that the compound life would be good for her, plus there is a self contained school for my child.

The worst thing is the packing of the household items.

Reading about Riyadh, I see good and bad things. It is hyper conservative but with great malls and restaurants, etc. I also hear the traffic is pretty bad too.

How better than Muscat would it be? I doubt it.

Living in Oman, has been the best of all. Even though it's a bit expensive.

Anyway, I am determined to make the best of it in KSA.
