The "Let to one Company" is a big prob yes. Last week saw 2 luxurious huge compounds on the Gulf Times. For QR6000 and QR4000. Amazing ha....

Anyways Games will soon be over and everyone is waiting to see wots gonna happen. While it is true that a lot of companies are paying the huge rent amounts I also know that if the rents dont go down or at least the companies put up the rent budget then a lot of ppl are gonna leave Doha. In the end ppl are waiting for the friggin games to be over so that they can take a decision...

In all honesty, if it doesnt change, we will be heading out. Not sure where, but one of the reasons we went expat was to save money, and there is not a bloody chance that we will pay out of our own pockets because the company is too stingy to raise the allowance or the landlords are too greedy to drop the prices.

Doha is great, but it isn't THAT fantastic! lol

Don't have the same problem here in Dubai with the company let thing.
Anyway hopefully alot of these issues will be clearer or not... after the Asian Games.

Thanks again

Same reason we left Mellie. Had use of employee apartment who was on long term sick, it was thought he may never come back coz of his illness. He had a 4 year lease on a 2 bed, 2 bath F/F apartment, so we stayed in it and company deducted the rent of 4500QR pm. That was good and left us lots left over. Then suddenly guy announced he wanted to return to work, we looked around and couldn't find anything suitable or available. A villa at 18,000QR pm, company offered just 2,000QR towards it! Stuff that.
We came home earlier than expected but had planned a Xmas here anyway, but all things work out in the end.
Enjoyed our time in Doha though, work was just brilliant.

I know, I believe in fate. It was meant to be.
