Moving out to teach
Hi all,
I have recently been offered a job and will be moving out to teach in Abu Dhabi in August.
I (obviously) have lots of questions but to start off...
1. What should I ship/bring with me and what should I buy? I'm thinking things like my TV- how expensive is it to buy a new one? Will a UK digital tv be able to receive any sort of signal?
Would you say it's better to just bring very little and start fresh? I'm being given a furnished apartment but what does that mean exactly? I should add I've been given a shipping allowance too, but I don't know how much yet.
Thanks!

Take your 20kg luggage allowance. Everything else you can get out there.

I barely manage 20kg when I go on holiday!
How expensive are electronics?

If your getting a furnished apartment then you won't need to buy much (potato masher etc) and there are plenty of shops where stuff is cheap (LuLu is like Tesco but run by Indians).
You should get 30kg allowance if you're flying with Etihad

Thanks! I found out today I have a £550 shipping allowance, so going to research what that allows me!

Send stuff as freight - much cheaper.
