Moving to Dubai - should I get a job before or after I move?
My fiancee has been offered a job in Dubai which she is seriously considering which would mean a move to this amazing city. Obviously I would go with her but I will need a job - how easy is it to get a job in Dubai or should I try and tie one down before coming out and if so where is best to look? ps in my UK life I'm an archaeologist.

Getting a job while you're still in the UK is always the way to go, because you tend to get offered a better package that way.
Don't think there's much/any call for archaeologists out here, though. What else can you do?

For some strange reason I always imagined (or is he really one?) Shiva was an archaeologist?
Medmarch,
Haven't heard of any archaeologists here - try contacting the museums for information. Think they do some digging up in RAK - as I remember reading about ancient artifacts they found there in the papers.......

Cheers Eeyore,
I've had a little experience in a lot of jobs including working for the BBC and conference organisation. As an archaeologist I have had experience with surveying - including teaching it as a course at University which I was thinking could translate into building surveying.

Dear IndieG
I will look into it - I'm sending off my CV to recruitment agencies at the moment.
