Default Moving to Dubai - Marriage Certificate Help

Hi everyone,

I am getting married in July, and will be moving to Dubai with my wife a week or so later.

I understand that I need to get my marriage certificate attested, but am unsure as of the best way to do this. I am getting married in Northern Ireland, but understand that the FCO office is in Milton Keynes, and the UAE Embassy in London, which would mean having to travel to England to get this done. I have a few related but sort of separate questions:

1. What I am wondering is if it would be better for me to get this done myself by travelling to England, or paying for a service that can do it within and return it within a few days, or will this be cutting it a bit fine?

2. Also, if I get this done in Dubai, what is the process there, or do I need to get something else done here beforehand?

3. If I get this done in Dubai, as in question 2, would it be illegal for my wife to be living with me for a day or 2 until this is done?

4. Is there any way that I could get this done at the UAE Embassy in Dublin? I cannot find any information about this, and am aware that mainland Ireland is a part of the UK.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Johnkimble... You are able to pay a company in Dubai to get it all done, the process takes a couple of weeks and is pretty pain free. I recently used them myself for qualification certificates. Call 8007327 in Dubai [Power Document Clearing Service] With regards to your wife living with you, I wouldn't be to worried. There is a lot of expats living together in Dubai that are not married. You both being married already I wouldn't worry that you cannot immediately prove it, I doubt you will ever have to unless you want joint bank accounts etc... I hope this helps
Good Luck

Just do it yourself by post. No need to travel (you can't apply in person) or pay a third party. Send it by next day delivery and include a note explaining it's urgent. They should be able to turn it around for you in time.
