MOVING TO DUBAI!
Hi Guys!!
Just landed a new job within financial services () out in Dubai, commencing beginning of April!
I have absolutely no idea what to expect and I am currently in the process of trying to arrange accommodation etc before arrival.
Can anyone provide any tips?

I don't want to piss on the proverbial fireworks, but just tread carefully.

Good luck, but as Millhouse said, tread carefully.

Re: MOVING TO DUBAI!
Those sales types only want your money, not to advise you how to build it up.
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. If you speak with any adviser check them out properly. Are they decently qualified (more than a basic qualification in the last year!), do they really have proper knowledge of expat issues (tax etc), are they asking what you want rather than pushing a plan?
If their 'advice' is for a 20 or 25 year regular savings plan, walk away as it's for their benefit, not yours.
Do yourself a favour - caveat emptor.

They are a good bunch though, especially if you do a bit of research.
Quite a lot of info on places to stay and do already. Stuff in the wiki as well, but that probably isn't quite as up to date as if you searched the threads.
Good luck.
