Mosquitoes in Dubai?

Mosquitoes in Dubai?
Hello all, does anyone know if there are mosquitoes in Dubai? We have had a few bites to our hands and ankles but in the last 2 days we have been to the beach & on the desert safari. If you only get bitten in the desert then I’m not to bothered but if its something that happens regularly at the beach etc then we will buy some cream!

Had one buzzing around my bedroom last night. Darned annoying. Probably worth buying some cream if you are going to be out at dusk but generally it isn't a major hassle in Dubai. And they don't carry any nasty diseases that I know of- although I've never asked one.

It could be sandflies, which can be quite nasty. Especially if they carry leishmaniasis.
