Hi there,

Are SIM cards readiy available in Saudi to purchase - much like a 'Pay as you Go' deal in the UK?

Yes,
STC/Al Jawal offer a pre paid service.
Top up card are available everywhere, and network coverage is pretty good.

However, to get a Sim card you will need passport copies, one off payments and letters from your employers.

You will soon notice that in this region you can do nothing without a ton of paperwork !!
