This presentation annoys me a bit - as it talks about Salaries and Basic Salaries - without defining either. Some industries get allowances, some get bonuses, some nothing. What is a Salary and/ or a Basic Salary.

But, if it is package excluding bonuses (which I think is probably the case) then it is probably ok - but on first read it looks like another sloppy report from a mediocre advisor.

Ethos83 is an unknown quantity at this point

Is it interesting?

I dunno.

Dubai was always one of those places where two people with similar experiences doing the same job similar companies can have huge differences in their packages, even if of the same nationality.

Based on the numbers finance pays exceedingly well to younger people with fewer years of experience, compared to the other sectors where you have to wait longer before progressing to the higher salaries.

Thanks for that, I found that interesting as it's made me realise that what I thought was not such a great package is actually not too bad at all :-)

Might go and get loads of credit cards and buy a new car now

I haven't got one. Did a couple in my old firm and just smacked them on excel and PDF'd it. Doesn't need to be fancy and OTT. Most companies don't need them.

Ask me a position, I'll tell you what it pays.

Depends on years of post-graduate experience from a relevant degree for each field.

Suggesting the individual has 10yrs in each of those roles.

35-40k for each of them. All in.

What's gross salary mean? if that is all in (flights, housing, schooling, salary, bonus etc) then the O&G Technical is out by about 20k at each level.

No, but there is such a thing as a free lesson in how to walk like John Wayne to the bathroom.
