Medical Testing

I'm thinking about accepting a position in Abu Dhabi, but I'm worried about the medical tests that are required upon entry.

Does anyone know if the tests they perform specifically look for illegal drugs in your system, such as marijuana?

Thanks!

Re: Medical Testing

Hard to say - when I went for my medical whilst in Qatar - it was only an xray and a blood test to determine my blood group and check again if I didn't have HIV. The one here in Saudi - it was the full shabang - including a urine test that clearly had on it a test for narcotics. If I was a betting man I'd say you'd be okay in Abu D - the main things they are always checking for is TB and HIV.

Don't quote me on saying this but I did ask when I had a test for my second VISA done last week and they had said that they were only looking for HIV and TB, but I got a stamp claiming I was free from infectious diseases!

I think it is only at the airport whewre they test for THC and the like! Not that I would know anything abou that....

AD may be different but it's all under the UAE guidlines I presume...
