Malls In Jeddah
Folks I am currently spending a few weeks that are rapidly turning in to possibly months in Jeddah, and want some help on where is best to shop.I know we are spoilt in Dubai and I hate malls but as you can imagine there is little else to do here.I notice alot of shopping areas are kind of street front big units and are the norm here as opposed to malls,I actually went in to NEXT the other day but was amazed when I went to try a t shirt on as they had no changing rooms, very good for buisness.I have also gone to a couple of malls that are still not open, which is another thing over here as you can never tell what is open and what is closed, sounds daft I know but true, and I dont mean at prayer times.
Anyway a bit of help would be appreciated because I am bored out of my skull and the footy season has nearly finished and also I work with ropes and am thinking of tying one round my neck, well actually I have noticed a few necks I want to tie round first but you know what I mean.
Also my posts are always short,so this tells you how bored I am!!!

Not sure about Jeddah but in Riyadh the malls have changing rooms outside the shops overseen often by a woman. You buy the clothes, go and try them on and return them if they do't fit/aren't right etc. A huge pain in the bum.

Yeah, just to echo the posts so far, the biggest and newest Malls are the Red Sea Mall ( just off the King Road, also known as Malik Road ) and the Mall of Arabia.
Mall of Arabia is still developing, so has few units still to let, but its pretty big. Most of the shops are the usual ones you will find on the UK High Street , but with prices compratively more expensive. Some will have cahnging rooms for men, but hardly any for women. Mall Arabia has Gap, Next, H&M, New Look plus a shed more others, which is very similar to the Red Sea Mall. Mall of Arabia is on Medina Road, in the North of the City and at the top of King Fahd Road
Depends on what you're after really, most of them tend to specialise in things, Red Sea and Arabia tend to be mainly fashion . clothing, with a few otehrs sports shops thrown in. Aziz Mall - just off Prince Majid St is also a mainly clothes mall.
Thalia St is its known locally - is full of shopping and also has Ikea and the Serafi Mega Mall. Thalia St is where all the big designer shops are if you're feeling a bit flush. Big busy street, that gets very busy at night. Also has a Virgin Music store on the roundabout with Thalia St and Prince Sultan St.
Depends where in Jeddah you're living really, can take a while to get across town. Head down towards Al Balad and as you approach the roundabout ( on Madina Road ) , there are all the sports shops, and an Adidas outlet shop, which by all accounts is very good value for money.
Sultan Mall on Prince Sultan St is ok, big electronics store there ( Extra ) and has a few other shops opening up around it ( Ruby Tuesdays, Sony World, Brands for less )
Hera Avenue is ok, a bit small, Hera International Mall is pretty big, but a bit dated now. Jeddah International Market is also a bit rundown now, but has a lot of electronics. JamJoon on Palestine St also has a pretty big Carrefour. King Abdullah St has another large Mall now, can't remember its name, have driven past Andalus Mall but have never been in.
Happy Shopping!
