Hi me and my wife are moving soon and were interested to know how easy it is to get a maid in Abu dhabi ?

Are there any maid agencies we can use and how much is hourly rate for maid in Abu Dhabi?

Just google abu dhabi maids and you will get a couple of agencies that supply at a fixed rate, I take it you do not want to have a full time one who you would have to sponsor, house feed etc.

I found two and both seems quite expensive 45 dirham an hour is a lot more than what maids get here in UK

because if you use an agency maid you are paying a lot to the agency, the maid will not get the 45 dhs

well, no it's not, certainly not for a registered agency maid. 45.00 AED p/hour is +/- 7.30 GBP p/hour. UK minimum wage or a 21+ y/o is 6.31 GBP p/hour. Employer would have further contributions and costs above that meaning they would make a loss at 7.30 GBP an hour.

A quick google shows maid (cleaner) rates at around the 7.50 GBP in 2007.

Of course you might mean cash in hand to someone for assistance around the house. I guess that would be cheaper, but against the law here.

@Brains1983 - Thanks for putting the complex algo on comparing maid salaries in UAE and UK. Not sure I asked for this precisely.
and there seems a big difference between 7.30 and 7.50 :-)
I am not hiring a maid in UK - It is for UAE

and last time I checked all cleaning companies take cash payments in UK....not sure about companies who take bank transfer , checque and other methods of payment....
