I honestly thought town planning cos of the pseudo bricktop....
I may suggest somethin perhaps you may think about it? ... change of career.... not a total change... but perhaps work in the same industry but different career if u kno wat i mean.

I works for a claims firm with Offices in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai. If you want to send me your CV then I can pass it on? I work in the UK Office however left in July so keeping a close eye on things. We are always looking for the right kind of people.

Our company just sent an email to many thousands of people globally saying times are tough and the regional manager forwarded it to this area saying jobs will be cut.....we have no idea when decisions will be made or how long this state of flux will go on for...there have been no meetings, no talk
I can picture a few more people on the streets..me probably included

The same industry most others are in here- D&C...we will just be adding to the strife, turmoil and wretchedness abounding in the world at the moment..without jobs..no-one can spend and get the wheels churning again ...no different from many others scenarios..rent paid up front, newly furnished housing, cars...anyway had some vino ..off to the couch with a junky novel to forget the real world..cest la vie..we have all been sitting on our seats in suspension waiting for the axes to fall and we still have no idea of the consequences and even if it doesnt fall on you or me or them this time..you know it will next time or the time after..its no way to live and work as most of you probably know. Im no newcomer..this is about my 3rd or is it 4th recession...but I fear the internet and instant global communications plus the diabolical greed and lack of control have made this unprecedented. ...what a mess

I also was made "redundant" today - funny term I had never heard before I came to the UAE. Did it bother me? Well, maybe a little. I actually felt bad for my boss because she brought me over for certain things and then all "economic he%%" broke lose. And everything ground to a halt.
I think she thought I would get emotional and all - but, heck, I am too old - just roll with the punches!!
And funny thing??? I already have a job at home - Retrenched at 1753 and new job at 2257 today!!! LOL!! I told my boss I would stay the month but I think I will text her tomorrow saying I want to leave Sun or Mon.
Oh, how life plays such strange melodies!!
