Re: Lunch during Ramadan
I keep getting these things wrong....I'm trying to be a grown up (especially since she's deserted me for three weeks) but keep omitting the wrong things from life.
Duvet on the sofa - not acceptable
Ketchup/Mayo - not acceptable
Beer before 12 - still acceptable
Are these all now wrong?

Re: Lunch during Ramadan
That's sometimes known as Thousand Island dressing, and deep in the past used to be slopped all over Wimpy burgers, which I used to love. I'm old enough to remember the Wimpy burger place in Dubai - it used to be near the Harry Ramsden's not far from the Creek.

Re: Lunch during Ramadan
I rarely fancy the duvet on the sofa but sometimes it's just lovely.
Ketch/Mayo is coming back.
Beer before 12 is acceptable forever.
Thanks guys

Not quite, anyone can come in to eat, drink & smoke (Trade Centre will take anyone's order). If they want to swim & use the other facilities (gym, tennis courts etc) then an entry fee is charged.

Re: Lunch during Ramadan
Thank you very much Spartan53! Tried Khozama for lunch today - and it served food and drink throughout the day.
One funny aspect. I had to sit behind a black curtain at the table even though I went on my own. It was a bit surreal.
I guess they are worried about the muttawa seeing anyone eating and drinking.
Thanks for the heads up! There is nothing else open in the long daylight hours here.
