Re: Long weekend hotel recommendations for Dubai
Hi guys - we're coming from Oman for a long weekend (driving up Tues drive back Friday) in a couple of weeks time. There's us two adults and our two boys (3 yrs & almost 2 yrs).
We need a hotel that can provide either two adjacent rooms, or a 2 bedroom suite.
Not an outrageous price, although I know Dubai is more expensive than it should be. Are there any good discounts to be had nowadays?
We need a hotel that also has:
* car parking (obviously as we are driving there!)
* can sort out taxis easily (as I dont want to drive around Dubai!)
* baby sitting service (so we can have an adult dinner or two whilst the two kids sleep)
* restaurant
* shaded pool that is not too deep so the kids can play in it
* not too far from the shopping malls
* not in the middle of some giant construction site
Any recommendations?
ta in advance,
OS

Does it have to be in Dubai - some near Fujeriah (and closer to Oman) that are very nice and family friendly - I really liked JAL Fujeriah and they were reasonable with good pools and a choice of restaurants... there is alos Al Aqah and Rotana hotels there too - maybe they will be reasonable prices?

Half of f**kin' expensive is still expensive..... If they are planning on spending most of th etime trawling around the city, why pay thru the nose for a couple of packs of dates left on the pillow......

I hear and agree with what you say but the OP was wanting a baby sitting service, shaded pool thats not too deep etc and some of the less costly hotels won't have these facilities but what about the Novotel and the Ibis?
