In Jeddah I knew many families (mainly Asian) who lived off compound in the area around Shara Sitteen. In Khobar there were many living downtown. No too many Europeans though.

Hi Grey, Al Hosn didn't contact me again. They seem to be a unserious company. So far, I got an opportunity in KSA.
Hi Dragonladyoz... the problem with the compounds is the prices... It's really expensive to rent there and the allowance provided is not enough to pay it, that mean that I would have to take a considerable part of my salary to complete the rent.

As a british male and living off compound here Khobar, i find it much better and easier to get around.
After living in Compounds in Taif and Riyadh, I wanted to live off compound here in Khobar and 3 years later i feel much better and yes of course saved a lot of money.
