Living expenses
I posted this in another thread but didnt get much reply. So i thought I would create a separate thread here.
Im finalising an offer at the moment to work in Jeddah. Apart from housing I would think the other expenses should be about the same for Saudi & UAE. Exchange rates are almost the same too. Can someone take a look at these expenses and tell me if my ball park is about right? Schooling is taken from the British School website so I know that is correct. Housing may be more in Dubai. Bills, Food and Luxuries are the ones that I need to be looked at, plus anything else I might have missed. Expenses per month Housing -8,334 School -3,998 Bills (elec) -2,000 Car Insurance -1,000 Food -5,000 Luxuries -4,000 Maid -1,000 Other ??? Total Expenses -25,332 Thanks. |

Currency is Saudi Riyals. 1000 SAR = 979 Dhirams, so more or less equal. I would expect only the housing to differ but I dont know how accurate my estimates are.

Quite difficult to compare as I am single so living less expensive, and I don't cook much, no kids and my bills are covered ... okay luxuries might be a bit higher for me :D
