Maybe he wants to keep her as she's good at squeezing the morning orange juice?

If you tell this to a Saudi they will say that "it's because of people like you that the maids have become so demanding, you give them everything!!!"

I'm not Saudi and believe me she is being very well paid, for a live-in maid who has 2 days off!

We have a maid that comes in the morning, at 7:30 and leaves at 5:30, Thurdays comes at 8 leaves at 1:30, kids are at school and both of us work, her work is the regular cleaning, ironing and watching the kids for 2 hours after they come from school, does not cook, not even an egg, honestly very basic stuff and she makes 1800, and is, for Saudi and western standards, very well paid!

Trust me when I say they will always "test" to see if some more money comes along, and the more you give the more they want! Always they trust on the fact that you cannot live without them, so they take advantage.

If you were willing to pay for the taxi you wouldn't have come here to ask...since I think that you're in doubt just tell her NO!
Whatever she does on her days off is her problem, if she chooses to visit her family in Riyadh will you also be required to pay for the plane tickets???

Good Luck!
