Default Liability for company apartment if quit job...

Does anyone have any experience of this? If the apt is leased in the company name (but specifically for you, not on long term contract etc) and paid upfront for the year are you in any way liable for the lease / paying the full amount or a penalty amount if leaving the company?

Any insights much appreciated as there doesn't seem to be any clear guidance on this and whilst logic dictates it is the company's name on the contract and therefore their liabilty this is not the most logical of places.

TIA.

If its leased by the company then all dues will be with them. They might pass on any penalties to you if they are applicable.

Any penalties that are subject to deduction all depends on your companies terms and conditions which you will of signed i.e housing allowance, penalties for resignation e.t.c.

I would check with your terms and conditions or make some discreet enquiries within your H.R if possible.
Worst case scenario is that they will pass it on and deduct it from any end of service benefits if applicable.
