Legal jobs in Abu Dhabi?
Hello All,
I would really appreciate your help as I dont know all that much about the job market in Abu Dhabi
My DH and I currently live in Doha and I have been offered a very good opportunity in AD.
The package is more than good enough for the whole family to live on plus save some so we were thinking he should quit his job in Doha and join us straight away - however, what is your feeling about the job market in AD for Legal Jobs.
Is it good? As tight as Dubai? Should he stay back in Qatar before moving across....
He is securities industry specialist with 20 years PQE some inhouse corporate work too
Thanks for your help.

There are opportunities in Abu Dhabi, albeit capital markets work is still extrememly challenging- I presume when you say your husband is a securities specialist then it is general corporate/capital markets that practices in. What jurisidiction is your husband admitted to practice in?
His best bet is to speak to a couple of the head hunters who work across the GCC and specialise in in-house and private practice opportunities.
Hope this helps.

When I say challenging I mean that there is very little pipeline for capital market transactions on the exchanges here in the UAE. It is hoped that this will improve going into 2011.
If he is on the regulatory side the obvious places to start would be with the local regulators or with private practice law firms that require regulatory expertise for the benefits of their clients.
