Thanks for the replies, I'll be getting in touch with the taxman then & look forward to the bill. Wish you all the best in Dubai, was just not for me & I'll raise a glass to the place when I'm sat in a PROPER pub back in the UK in a couple of days' time.
As for the 'youre a troll' comments, no I'm not, and you guys seem to be able to troll yourselves fine without any outside help..

I may try to just keep quiet - cos i'll hand in a P45 from my last place dated end Feb (due to them being slack) and see what comes of it...

second question then - tax liability - i'm earning a normal wage wage (20k dhs inc. of all housing allowances etc), being paid into a standard bank account here, not salting away loads. as i'm not out of the UK for 183 days, am i liable for tax on anything earned? how will they tell??
