However, IMHO, lean six sigma requires a level of actually giving a sh*t about what you're doing that the general Middle East workforce does not yet have, so it's doomed to failure here.
Agreed.

Same with QA (of which Six Sigma appears to be a variant) - Great if done properly; not so good when the paperchase has no bearing on the reality of the situation.

That was not the question. The question was whether it is popular or not? As a black belt here in Europe you can demand whatever you want. I hope something similar will also happen over there!

As a leather belt in Dubai, I can also demand what ever I want.

I don't always get it but I can demand.

Whahaha you're funny! The difference with us is that we demand it and we get it. By the way I still haven't choosen this path yet, but I'am only wondering.

Good to see you don't take a six sigma approach to your spelling.

So, you are saying, that as a six sigma black belt, you can demand and get whatever you want in Europe.

You don't apply six sigma to the truth either do you?

So it seems the real purpose of 6 Sigma is to enable its proponents to demand and get 'whatever they want', rather than say ensuring that the required quality of a product or service is achieved.

Ok, let me put it another way... it won't help you here.

I really wouldn't structure your early career on a move to the ME. Get experienced at what you are good at, then see if you can bring it here.

The thought had crossed my mind.

Sell it cheap, maintain it expensive.

Then tell me; what is popular over there? Because either way, I will eventually go to the ME! The advantage that I now have is that I can specialise in what ever I want.

So advice and tips are welcome!

Prostitution, investment banking (same thing), oil and gas are all popular.

Long term, the first one is probably the most sustainable.
