Hi,

We will be moving to Abu Dhabi on Monday and staying at the Sheraton Khalidiya on 1st Street.

To minimize costs, I would like to wash my own clothes without having to use hotel services. Does anyone know where I can do this in Abu Dhabi.

there is one but cant for life of me remember where it is but i know its the other side of town somewhere, it will come to me, its not up on 7th st, but there are loads of laundries which will be cheaper than the hotel, i used lala laundry which is in the block opp dana plaza but there are loads, they charge you 3 dhs for a wash and iron.

i know its been done to death etc, but can anyone recommend a maid service in AD for 2 afternoons per week for the next 3 weeks?

Don't know of a maid service but can recommend a lady who is always looking for extra casual work - her and her hubby clean up after me (live in's for a friend). PM if you want details.

once you arrive; take a walk around Khalidiya you will find many services and shops just a few minutes walking fron the hotel.

I stayed there for a few weeks when we arrived. If you stand in front of it, directly across the road between the two building (on the left of Choitrums is a laundry, cant remember the name but take everything there and collect it later. The SK do a laundry service but very expensive and will not take kindly to deliveries and collections. I took everything there very reasonable and very good. We use Whitehouse now but use them until you move out.

ha, no not particularly, my wife would prob describe me as tidy but not overly clean...i.e there is no shit lying around the place ever, but the floor could do with a sweep and a mop...

ask your very nice neighbours if they know of a maid, they will prob send theirs round for free, u did bring them back a pressie from Scotland didn't u

actually they have 2 and yes i brought them back some lovely shortbread in a big tartan tin..
