Latest advice on sending money
I need to send around USD 10k to an AED account in AbDab
What's the latest thinking on the cheapest way to do this eg. a company like GCEN or peer-to-peer eg. Transferwise?

I used to use GCEN but now a bit of a PITA and I just go to UAE Exchange as they phone up for a better rate if you have a large sum to transfer. I think this olde thread is still relevant: http://britishexpats.com/forum/sand-...nge-co-840591/

Curious mikewot why GCEN is a PITA. I've been using them for over 2 years and had no issues. What should I look out for?
