Labour Leadership

So, the leadership race is well underway and it appears there are some front runners after the first round.

Anyone paying attention to it?
I am on the basis I think we need really good opposition at the moment. We can't go through another period of someone like Corbyn being across the room.

Anyone got any faves?
Personally I quite like Sir Keir...he's the kind of champagne socialist / centrist that would appeal to a lot of people potentially.
Long-Bailey appears to be the favourite though, I don't know much about her to be honest but worry she's a Corbynista.

Bookies:
Keir is odds on, L-B is 2/1

The sacrificial victim, eh? I'm all for Long-Bailey. Helps keep them irrelevant for a while.

Long-Bailey should walk it, so tight is Momentum's grip on the party.

Der Starmer won’t be winning an election anytime soon but he would be the only candidate who could provide a credible opposition. I like Nandy as well but she has no hope of winning.

I can see them splitting apart: Lansman to take the hard core further left into perpetual opposition, and moderates struggling to stay more relevant than Change UK did. Cue 20 years-plus of Conservative government.

If i was a labour member id vote for Lisa Nandy. Alas they wont and will be confined to piss poor opposition for the next 10 years , they must carry on the good deeds of the Magical Grandfather

Not sure about South of The Tweed. Where we are, in Scotland, Labour is a dead duck. Very few Labour MPs or MSPs and the Party has no credibility.
