Just tell me where to go!!!!

Re: Just tell me where to go!!!!
I haven't read every single post so apologies if this has been mentioned.
However, South Africa is a great destination, I've been a few times. My favourite place is Berlito (just north of Durban) on the Indain Ocean. You can rent a palacious Apartment on the beach for next to nothing. The scenery and weather are fabulous.
The cost of almost everything is far lower than most other places and they drive on the right, speak English and have great restaurants and bars etc, etc.
Rent a car for a few days and go explore the Krugar National Park or Mozambique. No worries for your safety as long as you keep out of the obvious areas.
I spent 3 weeks there a couple of years ago and drove all over without any worries for me or my families safety.

Crime has been a major problem in South Africa. According to a survey for the period 1998–2000 compiled by the United Nations, South Africa was ranked second for assault and murder (by all means) per capita, in addition to being ranked second for rape and first for rapes per capita

Nah thats scare mongering.
All the crime (or 99%) is focused in the 'townships' If you keep to the metroploitan and country areas it's safer than London. I've been there 3 times so go figure!

Yup .. agreed .. well, where Cape Town is concerned. I have a lot of friends in Cape Town and when I got there they were laughing at me being so scared as I had heard a lot of bad stuff about SA.
