I think it will affect stuff in the marina area but no anywhere else. Your rent can only go up 15%. We are lucky ours will stay at 85k for two years cos of the new rent laws.

Difficult to say. Depends who really owns them. If the property has been financed by mortgage, then they may not be so choosy and would probably want to rent it out quickly.

Wonder what the new rent laws would be in 2008? I am certainly not signing a new contract in 2007 (mine is up in 12/07, but the landlord send the contract in Oct!) unless I know the new rent laws. 95% of the tenants in my building accepted their new contract (up 20% ) in Oct 2006 and are now paying exhorbitant rents - no protection by the cap.

Its quite crazy for the same apartment in my building we have rents ranging from 70k to 120k:blink:

All the investers cash is now moving to sports city, the guys have made their cash on JBR and are now looking at 50% down (over stages), and rental returns of 15%/annum on the hotel apartments.

Minimum

Guaranteed.

okay - sports city - I wouldn't put a fil there now, they haven't even tied up the financing for the project.
