Job Offer in Dubai - Help
Hi,
I have an offer to work in Dubai for a new company/start up with a big investment fund behind it and secured funding.
They are offering me 43K AED per month including all allowances. Annual Tickets and Health insurance on top. 22 Days of holiday
I am planning to move there with the Mrs and I am looking to understand if that salary will be enough for the 2 of us + savings.
My calculations per month:
1 or 2 Bedroom serviced apartment - 13,000 AED all in
Car rental - Small SUV like Nissan Juke - 3,000 AED
Groceries and etc - 5,000 AED
Entertainment - 5,000 AED
Are my estimates accurate?
Currently we live in Zone 2, London. Is it comparable?

yeah, that's about right, just be aware of where you will get your hotel apartment, make it as close to your work as you can.
Also, try to get the 43k as your basic salary, as that will improve your end of service (which is based on your basic only, so a basic of 40k with 3k allowance is a lot better than a basic of 20 with allowances of 25-28).

a 2 bed serviced apartment will be a lot more than AED 13k a month.

It depends on how long you are committed to it for, monthly renewal will be expensive, but if you commit to 6 months it is doable.....I have a large 2 bedroom in Al Barsha 10 mins walk from the Mall of the Emirates 120k/Annum, plus side it is tastefully furnished, is cleaned 4 times a week, free TV...no DEWA etc etc.

As I said it really boils down to how long you are prepared to commit to it, but there are plenty of deals to be had with hotel apartments as they are all feeling the pinch, and they like long term residents!

I imagine location makes a difference too. Barsha versus JLT is no brainer as to which will be more expensive.
Plenty of serviced hotel apartments in Bur Dubai behind BurJuman (Golden and Silver Sands). Probably some good deals down there too.

I'd pay 120,000 to not have to sit in traffic to Burjuman every day.
