Hello there,

I understand that the Janadriyah Festival in Riyadh this year will be held between 12th and 26th February. I read somewhere that last year they stopped the family days (i.e. husband and wife could not visit together) and had male-only or female-only days. I was wondering if anyone knows if they have put the family days back? If so, do you know what days these are?

I have spent so much time trying to find this information on the internet. I thought I had found an e-mail address but my e-mails are returned. No-one wants to answer any telephones either.....

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The info we've received says separate days for men and women - no family days as far as I can make out - bummer.

Stupid Saudis...and they claim to be family friendly.

Yeh, it's crazy - same if you want to go to the zoo (which we don't but . . .) and ice skating is the same - no families apparently. It's a crazy place. But if we go to the golf club at the Intercon we can play in normal shorts, but women are not allowed to drive the golf carts - we obviously look far too sexy poottling along at 5 k/hr with the wind blowing in our hair and then we can sit and eat on the terrace with normal clothes while all around us are locals totally covered up!

I've just received information regarding the festival......

Family day – March 16, 17 & 18
Ladies' day – March 15 (one day only)
Men’s day – March 5 until March 13

Time - 3:30 to 10:00 pm

Missed this one again!

Last year, arrived in Riyadh In early April and missed out, and this year, I'm in Jeddah! The venue is right opposite the compound I used to live on as well, so it was sooo close!

Never mind,2010 I guess?
