Ireland for holiday
 

Know I havent been here in ages... but perhaps some of you still would know-

going to Ireland for a week in July. Any suggestions on what to do and see, and where to stay? (Except for the obvious visit to the Guinness factory that is!)

If you are hiring a car, spend a few days in Dublin then travel to Cork. Take in the beautiful countryside and some of the best seafood restaurants around.

then memorise how good it was

next time go to the northwest of Scotland (kinlochleven, Glen Coe etc) and i guarentee you will love it even more.

Cliffs of Moher - breath-taking scenery
Visit Galway City - it is lovely. Has great night life and great restaurants and a very European feel to the city. Listen to students busk in the street

It is easy to get around. There are lots of internal flights. The internal flights are really cheap and can save a log of leg work. But the best way to see the country is to hop in a car and drive.

Parts of Dublin are good, but to be honest it is not the real Ireland anymore. I went to one of my fav coffee houses when I was home last and the waitress could barely speak English! I miss going into places and hearing an Irish accent.
