I am a big fan of the Pussycat Dolls and I’m 13, and so on the Internet I was searching for their song’s lyrics and the worst was - it was blocked!!! WHY???????? i thought that there might be some porn website with the same name but what the helllll???? Block their photos, but why the lyrics? My friend told me that they were bar dancers, soooooooooooooooooooo
Etisalat please, stop being childish , and keep their songs and lyrics free. How many guys agree with me?

Re: Internet Blocking
Full letter is still blocked for me.
Both the headline and the "read more" link also the "comments" link is blocked for me, are you a free zoner?
Also I didn't write the letter, I know their lyrics off by heart!

PCD letter still bloced for me. Not that I am too put out I just find it a bit off that I can't read the full letter or put any comments I assume that the PCD name is blocked so anything with that in the title is automatically blocked, as the letter writer points out she can't find the lyrics online.
Anyway I have found away to get youtube online and it doesn't involve me leaving the country!!!!

Re: Internet Blocking
I understand the reasoning behind blocking some of the websites here in the UAE. Some of the content on this interweb thingy is down right rude, crude, disgusting and somewhat illegal! However there are plenty of other sites which are breaking new grounds in leaps and bounds. The UAE is stifling the growth of the internet and preventing the population from learning new tech and learning about the people of the globe.
When listening to the TWiT & Inside the Net pod casts, I used to get so frustrated when they would talk about the new sites and the web2.0 as most of the sites that they mentioned were blocked here.
It is also frustrating that there are people working inside the free zones that have an unfiltered internet and also the people who are lucky enough to be able to afford a residence in one of the new developments. Although I understand that the speeds aren't that great (what I heard don't know if it has improved) at least it wasn't blocked.
Also the speed from Etisalat isn't the best really as the proxy slows the traffic down anyway!
Does anyone know any way we can campaign the government that we are responsible adults, if there are people out there that really need access to the sites that are deemed to be against the political and cultural values of this country will go else where to find the information they want or the porn that they can't live without! Can we not have access to the small movie clips on youtube, can we not share our photos online.
Can a teenager girl not look up the lyrics to here fave band 'PCD' online but can hear them on the radio buy the album in the shops!

I have the option of buying a property, my company will even let me spend my housing allowance on buying and give 12 cheques to a bank for me. But I just don't really like the properties and would always be worried that we would get the neighbours from hell such as expats like you move in over the road. Dumb ass red necks that can't keep their gobs shut and noses clean from brown nosing Bush and Uncle Samantha!
Why are you still on this site? Miss Dubai?

Re: Internet Blocking
It's not blocked for me but I still can't look at porn and anti-islamic websites...I guess I am just not adult enough at 29 to decide what I want to look up on the internet.
Cheers Etisalat!
