info needed on Doha
We are moving to Doha in May,(from N,Z but we have British passports) and I was wondering if anyone could give me any info on good compounds for families. We have 3 girls 11,9,5. We are probably going to have to enrol them into Ceders Bridging school until places become available in schools, does anyone have experience of them? Any info or help/suggestions gratefully received.

I have no experience with them, but haven't heard anything bad about the place. About compound ... here some good compound i know that are good for families: Al Jazi Compound Al Fardan 1 and Al Fardan 2 Doha Paradise Mind you to live in a compound you will have to have a budget minimum 15.000 QR and above. About the school ... you can try Compass or Newton ... they are brand new school that i heard still plenty of space left. |
Re: info needed on Doha

I just re-read your post again ... you mention having british passports for the kids. You shoud try to put them on waiting list in DESS and Doha College, they giving a priority to british passport holder since they are funded by the embassy. |
Re: info needed on Doha
Thanks Novita,
We have phoned the Compass school, and they have places for all 3 girls so I am very grateful for your help as we had never heard of the school before. We have also phoned DESS and Doha College, which want us to send more details...and sit entrance exams. We are quite anxious about this as the New Zealand education system is different from in the UK and I think they would be behind kids of the same age.(good at rugby though!!) Do you know what the waiting list is like?Do you think we could start them in one school and then transfer them to another? Thank you for your continued help, it really is appreciated. :) |

Mind you both scholl are very popular among expat community. How about Qatar Academy for Doha College alternative? |
