...I am just wondering what is the bst way to extend my visa for another 30 days? where do I go to do this?

Drive to hatta, go through the border controls, do a u-turn.

Everybody does it, no problem, but you do need to get a viasa for oman, AED30 if I recall, but they'll sell you that at the border!

Why don't you make a weekend of it, go to the beach in or around Muscat, so much cleaner on the east coast, and only another hour or so's drive.

Go down to Immigration and they'll sort you out with the 30-day extension. No need to drive to Hatta yet. Well, that's if you're British.

Anyway, if he can get a 60-day visa so easily (with an EU passport), it follows that he can get a get the 30-day extension.
