Oman is everything the UAE should be (in every way other than censorship, which is worse), but it is 10 times more beautiful.

Oman is going to really take off soon. BP have just signed a big contact there and everyone is trying to get a move there. Do they have property to invest in? It may be a good time.

I have been twice and really liked it but only for visits so was not there long enough to really get a feel for it.

Agree with that,
But with Dubai next door it relatively easy to have a weekend of madness

Would actually prefer that to living here. So many people burn out with the excess of this place.
The problem being, is that this place is a holiday destination and I have seen many people behave like they are on one long holiday.

I'd probably appreciate it more if i just came here at the weekends

Culture, history, architecture, scenery, diving, variation of things to do, friendly people, lack of arrogance. Dubai, Bahrain less than an hours flying away.

In Oman you see things like Omani's working in petrol stations, shops and driving taxi's

If i saw an Emirati working the checkouts in Spinneys I'd probably faint.

I am not sure if I have seen an Emirati working before!!! I have seen them on City7 news but I am not sure if they are real! :lol:
