HVAC jobs for Canadians in Middle East?

Hello All,

I am a Canadian citizen and have been working in HVAC field as a technician for the past 10 years in Toronto, Canada. I am planning to find a job as HVAC Foreman, Supervisor or Technician in Middle East. I am wondering what is the salary range for an experienced technician and what is the best way to find a job there? There are many job postings on the internet and I have applied to lots of them but have not had any response. Are there any headhunters or job agencies who I should contact for possible opportunities? Any advice in regards to the job search strategy is highly appreciated.

Most HVAC technicians in Saudi are Filipino. I assume that might also be the case in the rest of the Gulf.

Hi Scamp, I was born and raised in Iran. I acquired my Canadian citizenship back in 2005. Is this an advantage or not when it comes to job search in middle east?

Hi Scot47

Do you think the reason most Filipinos and Indians take the HVAC positions because the employers want to have cheaper labour? My expections are above 70000 US Dollars in a year. It must be tough to compete in a job market where lots of labour force is available.

Personally, I think it makes little difference, most employers will look at you as Iranian (if that is where your qualifications are from?).

70,000 US is a reasonable salary, you should find something for close to that.
