husband having difficulty finding job
hi everyone, my husband is having no luck whatsoever re finding a job in Dubai. Here he is inundated but there.. well, we have both done tonnes of research, joined lots of agencies, chased up applications etc to no avail.. all the architecture positions seem to want minimum 8 years experience.. he has 3-4
he is also now looking at CAD technician jobs too although he is slightly overqualified for these..
is there anything else anyone can advise? what about going for something more general - even if its like a call centre type job (as long as they can give employment Visa)..
thanks

Have you tried design jobs in other fields?
Exhibition, or Interior for example. Being an architect he'll be qualified for these also.
Most of the exhibition designers in my office have architecture degrees.

why the desperation to get out here? it isn't worth coming on the wrong package just to get a visa, and then later try and change to the dream job, you may end up being banned from working for 6 months.

I know I've said this before, but why don't you sponsor your husband? It would make him so much more attractive (employment-wise) if he already had a Residence Visa.

Sam thanks yep i know i will look into this also and am sorting out the docs as discussed but u know - i feel it would be less stress if he just finds an ARCHITECTURAL POSITION out there first. but yes residence visa is also an option and ill make sure i get all the docs sorted too x
