Re: Humidity
Christ, I had a smoke alarm disaster too. I decided to declare a "War of Terror" against the little roaches (or "small-smalls", as my Bangali manservant Shabbir calls them) and invested in 4 cans of industrial strength Pif-Paf. After safely isolating my cat, Shakhboot, in the spare bedroom and donning my DIY-floor-sanding mask, I set forth in unleashing the slings and arrows of aforementioned weapons of entymological destruction with a fervour that I can only describe as frenzied. After the second can, however, my endeavour was frustrated by the unwanted emissions of my smoke alarm, which I discovered could only be quelled by the vigorous deployment of a hammer against the firm shell of its outer casing.
I now feel, alas, somewhat exposed to the vagaries of a real fire, given the petulant reluctance of my smoke alarm to function in its current dishevelled position.
