Hello everyone

I am moving to Dubai in the next few weeks and although i've visited before i'm keen to get a feel for likley commuting times etc. I've experienced the CRAZY traffic over the creek from sharjah and back in the evening and i'm steering well clear of that. My plan was to live near the marina but my work is going to be at Healthcare City which although its a reasonable distance i was hoping would flow quite well???

I'm likley to traveling about 7am & 6pm roughly.

if I was you I would take an apartment in Healthcare City, very handy for work and Wafi etc. There are some being rented out down there, I saw a sign the other day but I can't remember which company was? You couldn;t get much further away by thinking of the Marina !!

should only take you 30-40 minutes max.
You will be going against the tarffic.

Yeah, but that's still an hour a day. 5 hours a week. 20 hours a month. Over a year, that's like, what, the equivalent of 10 days or so sat in a frikkin car listening to baaad radio.... Who needs it?

If I were you I would rent and live near Lamcy or in the Healthcare City apartments...But I'm not you...

thanks guys, i appreciate you advice, i have had a look round at the places available nearer HCC and surrounding without much success. I had been hoping to buy a freehold newly complted highrise apartment (like the many around the marina!) can any reccomend any development that fit th bill and if possible have a sea view??

I don't get to Dubai until the 7th Dec and its hard trying to work out whats what from the property websites

JBR and Marina are the only 2 that will give you a sea view.

all the other areas next to the sea are Villa areas.

Hey there, I work in Health Care City and currently commmute from the Greens. i leave the flat at 7:10 (latest) and i am usually at my desk for between 7:30 and 7:45....i have found the main issue is the greens not SZR. i beleive the marina is about 10mins further towards Abu Dhabi.
there are some snarl ups (to do with traffic volume) where you come off for Wafi City but its not to bad unless there is an accident!
