Yep.

That's why Dubai is going to receive a nasty dose of 'loss of confidence.'

It's going to hurt the city for a long, long and very long time. Who has any faith left in Dubai now?

agreed, they have taken a very typical dubai/emirati view of all this and will no doubt be surprised and offended when in six months time they get told to **** off when they want to borrow money for some grand and uterrly insane plan

Even AbDab has taken a beating....

Dubai can now kiss goodbye to any prospects of raising any debts in the international markets for the next couple of decades...

and why the hell is that idiot police chief shooting his mouth off? Media, banks, investors made a mistake differentiating between DW and Govt,,,yeah right.

It is interesting that we are not hearing any comments, wise or not, from the little guy who really is at the centre of the storm. Perhaps he is preparing for a long period of gardening leave?

"Separately, Dubai's ruler on Tuesday said the global reaction to the emirate's planned restructuring of its conglomerate Dubai World showed a lack of understanding.

"We are strong and persistent," Sheikh Mohammed told reporters, according to Reuters. "They do not understand anything," he said when asked about the global reaction to Dubai World's standstill request and restructuring plans."
