Hotels Dubai
We are heading out to Australia in June and on the way back staying in Dubai for 2 nights, been looking at hotels online but can't decide where to stay. Would like to be close to the centre, not too far from the airport and preferably not in a dry hotel. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Also the Kepinski hotel is nice, attached to the mall of Emirates, where the ski dome is.
Should only be half an hour to the air port from here (depending on traffic)and taxi's are reasonable and ready available.
I live the other side of Dubai and it costs under 13pound to reach the airport, I presume you mean Dubai airport?

ohhh...you don't want to be going to Double Deckers!!!
There isn't a centre as such, and not much around if you stay near to the airport. As TS says, there are some good hotels about 30 mins or less from there, and you'd be more centrally placed for the beach, shopping malls etc.
Take a look at the Dubai Marine Beach Resort, it's in Jumeirah and is quite reasonable and not a bad hotel, with some good restaurants and bars (oh yeah, and El Paso, but you can avoid that!). I know Blue Cat always recommends a newish one which is cheap too, but I can't remember what it's called.
If money isn't an issue, the Mina Al Salaam apparently has some good deals on at the moment, and costs less than the Kempinski...
MM, xx

Mata ...You know all the hotels only serve alcahol between 7 and 9pm in Dubai.
Oh and if you are a women ..You really need to cover up ....Not the whole black deal..just make sure you wear a head scarf and that your skirt is down to your ankles, no bare arms etc.
And bikini's are banned too so bring a swimsuit!
Hope that helps...sure you'll have a great time here
