Default Hotels Abu Dhabi (short visit to see if we like it)

Hi

My husbnad and I are very keen to move to Abu Dhabi and have been in contact with some recruitment agencies for work. We are planning to visit AD for a short while (5 nts) to get a feel for the place and maybe attend a few job interviews.

Where would you recommend to stay that is very cheap and that we would still have an enjoyable break?

Thanks

Define what you consider cheap?

Well I know that the middle East ain't cheap for accommodation so whatever you think would be most reasonable and good location to get about - or maybe with cheap taxis location isn't a problem?

Best deal I see so far is Hitlon Corniche working out about £100stg per night.

We stayed at the Rotana City Inn which was pretty basic, no pool, basically a city centre block but I think it worked out about AED540 ++ per night

Google 'Ramadan deals in abu dhabi hotels'......

Some good deals but like the boxman said...nothing under 600dhs.
Best deals we have found for staff short term on site visits: Intercontinental and Al Raha Beach..........................don't be suckered by Sheraton- pools etc u.s ..........Enjoy

The Howard Johnston is on Khalifa St in AD. Gets a bad review in trip advisor!

We're going down to Abu Dhabi Shangri-La in October for a couple of nights, got it for 850dh a night (+taxes).

Heard very good reports about it.

all i am looking for is a bed to sleep i will not have time for to use the normal things in the hotel. mind you i supopose a lot of them are closed,
that pi bar right on the top floor.

hey has any one any ideas which hotels have the hospitality suites that are open for the non muslims.!!!

Not sure what you mean by this - but you are probably thinking that all the bars are closed due to Ramadan - things have changed now in AD and a lot of the bars are still open.

Great hotel just outside Abu Dhabi so will take you about 20 mins to get to the centre.

The Shang is my fav. in AD. Like it even more than Em. Pal
Did you jiggle the rates as they don't always flow on tariff?
Saying that, 850 plus 16% is a good one for October.

Just in case you do your sexy Zorro thing and cut this post for advertising.

Should you wish the need to employ the Cocktail handbag.......High Spirits is ten minutes up the road behind Carrefour.....no licence required(Not on a Fri of course.

Funny, I don't know ya but I am seeing you as a large Hermes

i have only been away for 3 years but still visit a couple of times a year.
all the bars used to close down for ramajam.
but wow they, well some of them are open, a step forward i think, where as you had to travel up to dubai by the dump for a glass or three of falling down water.
hoping to be back in auh soon. !!!

Most of that is right over my head, but we got email confirming the rate of 850dh (+tax).

Been out here nearly 5 years and this will be our first nights out in Abu Dhabi, quite exciting really. I think the new Left Bank is nearby so may give that a butchers.
