Hotels Abu Dhabi (short visit to see if we like it)
Hi
My husbnad and I are very keen to move to Abu Dhabi and have been in contact with some recruitment agencies for work. We are planning to visit AD for a short while (5 nts) to get a feel for the place and maybe attend a few job interviews.
Where would you recommend to stay that is very cheap and that we would still have an enjoyable break?
Thanks

Well I know that the middle East ain't cheap for accommodation so whatever you think would be most reasonable and good location to get about - or maybe with cheap taxis location isn't a problem?
Best deal I see so far is Hitlon Corniche working out about £100stg per night.

We stayed at the Rotana City Inn which was pretty basic, no pool, basically a city centre block but I think it worked out about AED540 ++ per night

The Howard Johnston is on Khalifa St in AD. Gets a bad review in trip advisor!

having lived and worked in abu dhabi for now than 7 years.
i do know the emirates rather well.
so i will post a report on the howard johnston on my return to the costa del saudi sand pit in the eid.
all i am looking for is a bed to sleep i will not have time for to use the normal things in the hotel. mind you i supopose a lot of them are closed,
that pi bar right on the top floor.
hey has any one any ideas which hotels have the hospitality suites that are open for the non muslims.!!!

Not sure what you mean by this - but you are probably thinking that all the bars are closed due to Ramadan - things have changed now in AD and a lot of the bars are still open.

Did you jiggle the rates as they don't always flow on tariff?
Saying that, 850 plus 16% is a good one for October.

wow things have changed in auh.
i have only been away for 3 years but still visit a couple of times a year.
all the bars used to close down for ramajam.
but wow they, well some of them are open, a step forward i think, where as you had to travel up to dubai by the dump for a glass or three of falling down water.
hoping to be back in auh soon. !!!

Been out here nearly 5 years and this will be our first nights out in Abu Dhabi, quite exciting really. I think the new Left Bank is nearby so may give that a butchers.
