Hotels in Abu Dhabi

Coming to AD soon for a short term assignment, staying for a few months only. Looking for a reasonably priced hotel in AD centre.

Any info much appreciated, thanks.

Novotel on Hamdan street... you will have a blast.

Hilton Corniche Apartments. Currently 330 + taxes, and I think that includes brekkie and internet.

OK thanks for that EM.

Blast? I hope you are speaking metaphorically?

Any idea of the monthly rate?

Al Ain Palace Hotel is apparently quite good for long stays, too. And more or less on a par with Novotel for the extra-curricular stuff...

Thanks BB.

But that's 10K a month and I'm looking for something a little cheaper.

Any more info anyone?

Hilton - old hotel but has a fairly decent beach and nice restaurants (Thai and Italian are good) plus there are a couple of bars too

Sheraton Khalidiya used to be quite competitive

Holiday Inn is perhaps a little out of town - about a 10-15 minute taxi to "down town"

Vision Hotel Apartments - great location and super nice

ALoft - but again, maybe a little out of town

No worries but I think they will all be around 10K a month. Abu Dhabi is not cheap and cheerful any more!

There is an 'interesting' nightclub in the Novotel.

10k feels about right for a month in a hotel in AD. I spend a month in the Sheraton Corniche and it cost 36k AED back in 2008. It's not cheap here.

Otherwise try the Al Dair chain, they might be cheaper but you get what you pay for.

This won't be my first time in AD EM!

I know all about the hotel nightclubs and the 'interesting' activities that occur in them.

Thing is, my first priority is to get nicely set-up in a fairly quiet place.

I don't want to live long term in a hotel where this sort of stuff goes on all the time.

It can get kind of monotonous when you get propositioned every time you go to the bar, you know?

I must have a very high monotonous threshold.

I stayed in the Al Dair Regency the other night. 240/Dh night, I'm sure they will do it less for longer stays. Hotel is old, but clean, no funny business.

It's in the middle of the Salam street works though.

No. 'Reasonably priced' is a relative term, so there is no contradiction in conjoining the words 'Reasonably priced' with 'Abu Dhabi'.

Definition: oxymoron

Part of Speech Definition
Noun 1. Conjoining contradictory terms (as in `deafening silence').[Wordnet]
2. A figure in which an epithet of a contrary signification is added to a word; e. g., cruel kindness; laborious idleness.[Websters].

Actually the prices ARE reasonable now, even from an international perspective. Try staying in a Hilton in London for 70 quid.
